Xenex was honored to sponsor the inaugural Tampa Bay Community “Raising C. diff. Awareness” event in New Port Richey, Florida on November 4th, hosted by the C. Diff Foundation.
The sold-out event was a part of the C. Diff Foundation’s 4th Annual C. diff. awareness global campaign, which runs the entire month of November. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Clostridium difficile infection (C. difficile) “has become the most common microbial cause of healthcare-associated infections in U.S. hospitals and costs up to $4.8 billion each year in excess health care costs for acute care facilities alone.”
The event provided a collegial environment for infection prevention professionals, hospital representatives and others to network and share knowledge about C. diff prevention. In addition to Ryan Bridges from our Xenex team, one of our LightStrike Germ-Zapping Robots, Nicholle, was also in attendance at the event. Nicholle can generally be found zapping germs wherever Ryan is presenting – at this event, however, she was the first one on the dance floor and made a lot of new friends while driving home the importance of hospita
