Envisioning the Digital Hospital

Oct 24 2016 by Xenex Science

The word “digital” is frequently used in a healthcare context when talking about electronic medical records, patient monitoring and similar categories where interactions with technology are very visible. But digital technology is truly changing the patient experience in every part of the hospital, as well as pre-admission and post-visit. Software and hardware solutions are delivering improved care with reduced errors by facilitating communication, scheduling patients and equipment, analyzing patient data, delivering post-operative reminders, improving surgical techniques and much more. When care is delivered seamlessly and readmissions are reduced, everyone benefits.

CB Insights, a firm specializing in market intelligence, recently compiled a collection of over 80 leaders in the digital hospital space - in 15 different digital health categories - in this infographic:

The infection control category includes our LightStrike Germ-Zapping Robots along with three companies working to combat HAIs on the hand hygiene front: Altitude Medical, a producer of hand-sanitizing door handles; Hyginex, a data-driven hand hygiene tracker; and Hand-in-Scan, which scans hands to provide feedback on quality of handwashing. You can see their full report, here.

It’s an exciting time to be part of the digital hospital transformation, and we’re proud to be a leader in delivering modern, effective solutions to combat HAIs and improve the patient experience. Learn more about our solutions for hospital disinfection.
